BobbyA - the XML is a little thicker than the xl 1100 r 16 so they can be regrooved twice. They wear at the same pace. These 325 85 r16 XML tires are more puncture resistant and they are 13.1 inches wide verse the narrower width of the 1100 r 16 tire. It's really a preference thing. If you like the narrower look I'd stick with the 1100 r 16 tires. If you want a more aggressive "thornbird" look then the XML is the ticket.

Charles:

An off-the-wall question for you:  Do you have or can you get a couple of military Blazer rims, the 15x8 ones?  They were standard on the M1009 from the early to mid 80's.  Thanks.

I have a whole mess of wheels at the warehouse in Jacksonville. text me a picture of the ones you are looking for and I'll see if we have em. We just scrap em anyway so if I can round em up you are welcome to them no charge

Thanks for the info. I love my 11X16s. They pull like hell & wear great, you just have to be careful on wet pavement.  Bought them brand new , but have been told they are getting really hard to find. I was thinking of the XMLs next time. Thanks again!

BobbyA, yeah both the 1100 r 16 and the 325 85 r16 tires are getting scarce. They still run those 1100 r 16 tires up in canada. You might look there if you want to replace yours. I contacted Michelin about making a run for us and they wanted 500 qty and were going to charge us 600 a tire... yikes!

How much psi are you running in the tires? Also even though they are non directional they have a semi directional pattern and wear faster if u run em against the grain. Lower the psi and rotate em to where they are running frontwards and then regroove em if they are getting a lil low on tread. You may be able to groove em twice. Hope this helps
