I know I know. I haven't been on here in years. But... I have been collecting parts all this time. No worries, lol. Looking to start a build this winter. 

I have the chance to pick up a set of 28L's with 5 ton centers but good god they are huge heavy tires.

How do 5 tons hold up too them? I know Dan in Alcohaulin' ran em' for years but that's not to say he wasn't replacing shafts every weekend. 

Appreciate the input.

i run the same setup on my OBS 7.3 . have a 5 speed in mine and never broke a shaft yet but always carry a spare. only thing i wore out is my pinion bearings and thats because previous owners didnt take care of them and they were clogged up with mud and sand.
