has anyone  really won against code enforcemnet and how  . my issue i'm having is  5years ago when moving to this house in edgewater i was told by code  enforcement that it was ok to have my mud truck on my trailer as long as it is legally tagged (trailer). it was to only come off trailer for repairs and emediately go back on. same code guy is still working still and now come out and says no 5 years later says it would be considered outside storage  and not legal . but funny thing  is if its a boat or a huge ass rv, or travel trailer its ok . wtf .

serious answers and  heck even lawyers or something that would help to beat this  since  i believe this to be predjudice and discriminatory thanks in advance for any real help . i have till the 8 th of sept to get something done before fines occurr

if i cant win i have to find some one to let me place it on there legal  property some where close to me

i have been told the same thing about it being on a tailer that it should be fine.. i had code visit my house (in Polk Co) for an old truck and leave me an "abondoned or distressed" vehicle notice..i called the code guy guy who left it and he told me that i was allowd one vehicle tat isn"t tagged/ insd, but it had to basically be out of sight or under a car cover..so i jus put it behind my privacy fence...leaving it on the trailer should be ok, ask him to tell you what ordinance number it violates..then do your own research..

I asked about being behind privacy fence he said it wouldn't work cause the thing would be seen above the privacy fence

They said icouldn'tkeep it there on my property cause it was not tagand insured and not street legal.how would you know if it wasn't tagged unless they came on my property to see

Getting to the point of just selling cause all the aggravation.but just can't see my self doing that.

my truck is seen over the privacy fence too.. and no problems so far...almost sounds more like a neighbor or someone is complaining enough for them to give you a hard time..honestly i leave my truck out front on the driveway more than anything and haven't had any problems..

Typically code enforcement only comes out when someone calls I would say you have a pissed off neighbor. I have heard the same thing about the tag on a trailer but that's also in Polk co.

i moved to the country to get away from code enforcement, the daily visits and multiple fines were enough to get me to move.

i don't understand how they can tell people what we can and can't have on or in our yards, they aren't paying for our houses or yards.. Even when i got my little 12x16 work shed brought in the county got $140 for a building permit, for something i will load on a trailer and haul away when i move..total BS!!!  i have to say i haven't had much trouble with the county but still don't like the idea of having to pay to put something or build something on my own property..

With budget cuts there make it look like they are worth keeping around. I had the same problem at my house, I got a shop to work out of. Solved to problems code enforcement and my wife doesn't come up there.
