anyone know what axles/planetaries a I.H. model 4100 tractor has?

Heres some links to pictures...

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious shit.

I dont know crap about planetaries, do you know how i can tell forsure? PS250's are a good planet from the little info i can find, right? I think i can get the set of axles for $1500 or $1000 for everything but the center section and housing

I'm telling you for sure...100%... IH4100=PS250. Yes, good axle and good price.

Thanks man! if i get them, i dont think i want the stock centers do to they look extremely heavy and hard to weld/fab on. Is there any other options then F106's that you know of?

Mudslut did you have a brainfart? lol I guess I take blame for the reason everyone calls that a PS250. But in reality it is a PS205. Yes I was corrected too.  The planet guts are the same as a 250 but the knuckle is different. A 250 has a 1 piece knuckle and the 205 has a 2 piece bolt together knuckle. Still strong If ya need any parts to hybrid these to something else get ahold of me.

the planetary trucks break pinion shafts occasionally. the 5 ton trucks don't.

They look like PS250's to me, so let's get technical...

Why do you think they aren't 250's? The 2 piece knuckle vs 1 piece? I thought that was a rockwell design update that all PS250's got at some time like ujoint shafts on a 2.5 or 5ton? I'll check some p/n's and post back...

I was under the impression that a PS205 will have round axle tubes(other than the square pad) all the way to the champagne, and NO flanges. This axle clearly has flanges...

google it
Old post but are these for sure PS 205 axles with the split knuckle? Working on a Hough loader and trying to find info. The axle under that truck looks identical to the one in the loader.
